Experiencing Military Sexual Trauma changed how I view trust, leadership, and accountability. It showed me that a title does not guarantee integrity and that people in positions of authority, regardless of gender, can misuse their power and harm those they are meant to protect.

For too long, survivors of sexual violence have been silenced by fear, stigma, and broken systems. It’s time we acknowledge that harm and create space for voices to be heard, supported, and believed.

Sexual violence does not discriminate. It affects every race, every gender, every community. Whether directly or through someone we care about, its impact reaches all of us.

Real change requires more than words. It requires accountability, compassion, and the courage to listen. Survivors deserve to live openly, not in silence or in the shadows.

We all have a role in creating that change.

Sexual assault has no gender, race, social class, nor religion. It doesn’t discriminate. What it is, a crime against humanity. The taking of one person’s God given gift of free will. - RLN
