When I moved to Baltimore city proper-like, in 1984 I was already familiar with The Marble Bar and its glory, then I became familiar with WCVT, TRULY free form radio corralled by Rod Misey (Rest in power) & a gent with the catchy name of Skizz. Both The Marble Bar & WCVT (& ad-hoc fiasco & first Sowebo Festival) made me feel like I’d stepped into a creative oasis most delightfully open and delirious. CVT would play local tapes as they received them & often have great banter & debate about them. Each listen was an instructive blast. Then I got to meet Skizz and attend his microcinefest showings on Greenmount (slept pickled there on a couch overnight once). He is a non-stop producer and experimenter with film & music. Bands like Garage Sale, Jennifers, Go Pills (please put out an album!) & recent surf garage of ZOCKO. He made documentaries about performance music prankster fried Sinatra with side of Beefheart , AND fellow overworked often grinning instrument builder in . One of the “trips” that is on Skizz’s solo album “Trips” is Skizz chauffeuring Neil around various Royal Farms on chicken hunt during Neil’s 1st return from New Zealand. Trips is made entirely with free apps downloaded on phone. Skizz made rules for himself to follow, like “do not record in a comfortable space meant for recording” (see last frame) & he recorded while on the road. A customer shamed me for not being fully stocked with Cyzyk productions, but Skizz is a busy man! And he cancelled me for being bald (& not in a futuristic way).

Luna’s Sean Eden nattily attired in garb foisted on him by Luna’s Baltimore stalker/Normals cultural attaché, boardwalk Kurt Vonnegut impersonator, Shane Moritz , who is currently in Australia for the Down Under premier of “Shane of the Many Sorrows”!
Thanks for modeling Sean, looking good!

Been an action packed week for new arrivals, used books, new new LPs & new used LPs. Got too busy & fun to post, sometimes you just have to hang & talk with about how her great grandmother was a secret OSS agent with Julia Child & Julia bequeathed to her a file box of handwritten index card recipes. Many of the recipes have odd symbols and seeming nonsense scribbled on the back & now Cody’s partner has become convinced the cards conveyed secret code about Hitler’s movements & drug intake. Her beau hasn’t left the house in weeks and has begun cooking many meals that involve boiled vegetables encased in aspic. Cody needed some new music therapy. Although her purchase of the movie “Safe” is not likely to help the vibes in the house.

If the humidity has you not ready for full dual lobe immersion into the best aural experiments Baltimore has to offer, or you want shpritzers to go with your whiskey, here is a grip of der classic rock in really nice shape. Near mint 1967 Scranton pressing of Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, near mint 1969 Presswell US pressing of self-titled , near mint 1968 US pressing of “Wheels of Fire” by , nm 1968 stereo Elektra pressing of . & when I say near mint, I mean dang things look unplayed. And when I say The Doors, I mean the wild-assed hippies Wig McGrath worships & sacrifices goats to.
