Day 1 of the Catalyst Fellowship Retreat 🌿✨

We began the journey grounded in story, vision, and possibility with Mr. Sam Raphael, Founder of Jungle Bay Dominica. Listening to the story of Jungle Bay reminded us that bold dreams rooted in purpose can grow into living ecosystems of impact. Long before eco-tourism became mainstream, there was vision, risk, patience, and deep belief in what was possible for Dominica.

From there, we walked into Soufrière for an afternoon with the incredible team at Soufriere Outdoor Center. Through kayaking, laughter, vulnerability, and grounding activities, strangers slowly began becoming a community. Trust was built one paddle stroke at a time.

We closed the evening surrounded by sunset skies and the warmth of bubbling seawater, sitting in a circle and sharing pieces of ourselves with honesty and openness. The kind of conversations that remind you why spaces like this matter.

This is only Day 1! 🌍🔥

🌱 More Faces of the Catalyst Collective 🎨

Meet three more brilliant minds who will not only be facilitating at the Catalyst Retreat but are also deeply shaping the collective we are building together.

From ecosystem restoration and visual storytelling to tech justice and creative resistance, their work reminds us that systems change is most powerful when it's personal, grounded, and imaginative.

🖌️ Jenae Bell – Visual artist, author, and founder of Bell Art Studio in Dominica. Her illustrations breathe life into local stories and everyday beauty. VP of the Waitukubuli Artist Association and a true culture keeper.

🌍 Larry Davis – Environmental innovator and founder of Green Mechanics, Larry is on a mission to restore the planet’s most degraded ecosystems while skating toward a greener future. Maryland-based, globally minded.

🤖 Jeffrey Scruggs – A poet, machine learning engineer, and founder of Majestic Light Group, Jeffrey blends tech and tenderness to empower youth, elevate ethical AI, and build platforms that serve.

Their visions are bold, their roots are deep, and their commitment to this movement is undeniable

Stay tuned as this is only the beginning of what we’re co-creating!

💡 Dr. Louis Klein – A systems scientist + governance expert from Germany shaping global thinking on complexity, resilience & intergenerational change.

🦎 Jeanelle Brisbane – National Geographic Explorer, ecologist, and conservation warrior preserving Dominica’s rarest species — and holding space for deep dialogue.

📚 Matías Lara – Director at The 50 Percent, bilingual educator, and fierce youth advocate using systems thinking to build peace and possibility across borders.

🎪 Khade Ira Elwin – Multidisciplinary circus artist, founder of , and advocate for marine conservation, movement, and healing through embodied art.

“Give young people a greater voice. They are the future and they are much wiser than we give them credit for.”
— Archbishop Emeritus and Nobel Laureate Desmond Tutu

BMoreAg Foundation is honored to partner with Universal Greening Organisation (UGO) — a youth-centered, youth-led South African climate and environment movement. Following the signing of our MOU in March, we have now reconnected on ground for the closing of the UGO 2025 Fellowship.

With fellows from Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, and Sierra Leone, and official observers representing regions across Africa and the diaspora, we have come together to reflect, co-create, and catalyze solutions that place young people at the forefront of climate justice, workforce development, circular economies, and peacebuilding across the continent and beyond.

As part of this transformative gathering, we toured the South African Union Building, a historic seat of government and a symbol of leadership transitions — and we walked the storied streets of Soweto, a place that stands as a living monument to youth resistance.

In 1976, it was the young people of Soweto — students armed with nothing but books, voices, and conviction — who ignited a nationwide uprising against apartheid’s injustice. Their courage made Soweto a global symbol of defiance and hope. It is also home to two giants of freedom: Archbishop Desmond Tutu and President Nelson Mandela, whose homes still stand on Vilakazi Street, the only street in the world to have housed two Nobel Peace Prize laureates.

Today, Soweto reminds us that youth are not only the future, they are the spark of revolution.
