Growing Our Roots
Hi everyone,
We wanted to share an update on one of our most anticipated events at Growing Our Roots.
Our Annual Youth Wellness Day is something we look forward to every year, and we know our supporters and participants do too. Each year it continues to grow bigger and better, and we are incredibly grateful for the love, support, and community that make this event, and our mission, possible.
This year, both of our directors are welcoming new life into the world! With the timing and the care required to make Youth Wellness Day the meaningful event it deserves, we’ve made the thoughtful decision not to host Youth Wellness Day in 2026. This time will allow us to be fully present with our families as we welcome our newest additions, rest, and recover.
We’re excited to share that our Annual Youth Wellness Day will return in 2027 refreshed, reenergized, and bigger and better than ever!
All of our other annual events will continue as planned this year, including our Halloween Costume Giveaway and Winter Essentials Giveaway, so be sure to stay tuned for more details as those approach.
Thank you so much for your continued support, understanding, and encouragement as we take this much-needed time. We are so grateful to be part of such a supportive community.
With gratitude,
Growing Our Roots
Bee embodies what it truly means to be a community leader. They have opened their heart and their time to the young people in their neighborhood—creating a safe space, investing resources, and guiding children toward a brighter future. Our kids need more leaders like Bee, people who genuinely care about the wellbeing of youth in underserved communities.
But this work can’t continue without the support of others. Are you one of those leaders?
Consider supporting the children of the Seton Hill neighborhood by donating your time or resources. Every person who steps forward to uplift our youth helps ensure that the next generation faces fewer challenges than the last. Together, we can make a lasting difference.

Hello everyone!
This year, our Winter Essentials Giveaway will look a little different.
We’ve posted our current inventory of winter essentials, please check the photos and captions for available sizes. If you or someone you know is in need of winter gear, feel free to send us a DM to arrange either a drop-off or pick-up.
During our in-person giveaways, we limit items to one of each per person attending. This helps us make sure we support as many people as possible. Since we’re moving things online this year, we’ll require a quick photo for verification if you’re requesting items for more than one person.
We also encourage everyone in our community who is able to give—whether to a friend, family member, or even a stranger—to do so. Every act of kindness helps.
Let’s work together to keep our community warm this winter!
