Today has been about sifting through the past to get a better perspective on the future. Sometimes you have to look back to remind yourself of where you’ve been so that you know which direction to take as you move forward.
I used to write novels. And the social media outreach that I did for that far surpasses anything that I have done to date for my music.
It was a worthwhile endeavor to explore why that is. Now that I’ve figured it out, I can repair the silence.
I also took the time to explore some poetry that I wrote years ago to see if anything could be used in my current music journey. There was some material there to work with.
In truth, I really am a poet who happens to be able to put music to the verse. Mr. Poe called it “…the creation of supernatural Beauty.”
My novels were a tool at a point in time for my own self-preservation, but music and verse have been in my heart for as long as I can remember.
It seems the discovery of Self, the understanding of what makes Self what it is, never ceases, but perhaps it never should.
