As part of Maryland's 250th anniversary commemoration, the MD Two Fifty Commission, in partnership with Maryland Humanities, is pleased to launch Where History Lives: Field Trip Program.

This program will offer funding to support middle school (6th-8th grade) field trips to museums, historic sites, and parks across the state. The goal of this program is to help middle school students connect with Maryland's rich and complex history through firsthand experiences that bring learning to life.

Funding may be used to support transportation and admission costs for eligible field trips. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, subject to available funding.

Before beginning this application, please review the recommended sites and have the following information available:

โœ… Proposed field trip destination and date
โœ… Estimated number of participating students and chaperones
โœ… Transportation and admission cost estimates
โœ… A brief description of how the trip supports student learning

As millions of fans tune in to the FIFA World Cup and look back on another unforgettable NBA Finals, we're reminded that sports are about more than wins and losses. Sports are also about identity, history, culture, leadership, and connection.

That's where the humanities come in.

Join Maryland Humanities for our next Bringing the Humanities to Life webinar as we explore how literature, history, philosophy, and sociology shape our understanding of sports as a reflection of societal values, identity, and competition.๐Ÿโšฝ
