We lost our Noodles last Thursday. I saw this image the next day. Jennifer and Noodles spent 13 years together. I had the blessing of 5 years with this lovely being who maintained the spirit of a puppy, literally until his last few days.

One never truly knows how present another being in our lives is until we feel their absence — when I make food and go to hold some aside, or walk through the house and feel like I see him or hear him coming down the steps.

It is a reminder of both how important we beings are to each other, and how important we are to others — even some we never know our impact. It’s a reminder to live to our best, and not seek recognition, but to use our energy and presence to offer love and presence to those we encounter on this path.
