Mr. Fig learning place this morning! He’s mastered tethering and now we’re challenging him to choose calm, settled, passive observation without the insistence of the tethering line limiting his choices.
Needless to say, he crushed it!!

Most people think their dog jumps on guests because they’re excited.
I disagree.
In my experience, jumping usually starts from excitement, but continues because owners haven’t been shown how to consistently reinforce the right choices while simultaneously holding boundaries when needed.
If you’ve been:
Pushing your dog off
Repeating “off” over and over
Bribing with treats
Hoping they’ll grow out of it
…you’re not alone. But you’re also probably frustrated that nothing seems to work.
In today’s video, I break down why jumping happens in the first place and the approach I use to help owners create calm, polite greetings without confusion or chaos.
The goal isn’t just to stop the jumping.
The goal is to teach your dog exactly what you expect, communicate it clearly, and be consistent enough that calm behavior becomes the obvious choice.

Does your dog jump on visitors, or have you already solved it?
Working on that focused heel baby!! 🖤🖤
This level of precision is so unnecessary for a pet dog life but oh so addictive to train and unlock each progression of it.
We’re waiting but hoping it was a one time thing. 🤞🏻
