The CAPK Energy Team was excited to participate in the 2026 East Bakersfield Festival at Jefferson Park! Hosted by Children First, this free community event brought together families, local organizations, and service providers for a day filled with music, activities, and valuable community resources.

Our team enjoyed connecting with residents, sharing information about energy assistance programs, and helping families learn about resources that can reduce utility costs and improve home energy efficiency. Thank you to the event organizers and all the community partners who helped make this celebration a success. We look forward to continuing to serve and support the East Bakersfield community.

The CAPK Energy Team was proud to participate in La Colonia’s first annual “El Día del Niño/Cinco de Mayo” celebration in Shafter’s Mexican Colony. This family-focused community event brought together residents and local organizations to celebrate culture, connect families with valuable resources, and strengthen community partnerships.

We enjoyed sharing information about our energy assistance programs and services while connecting with community members. The event also featured participation from Bakersfield American Indian Health Project, Kern Family Health Care, the Center on Race, Poverty & the Environment, Los Generales Car Club, and Shafter High School. Thank you to La Colonia and all of the partnering organizations for making this inaugural event such a success!

The CAPK Energy Team enjoyed spending time with students, parents, and community members at Crescent School's Parent Resource Fair. As part of the school's Open House and Family Picnic, we had the opportunity to share information about the services and resources available through our program and connect with families in a fun and welcoming environment. Thank you to Crescent School for inviting us to participate in this special event and for helping strengthen connections between families and community resources.

The CAPK Energy Team had a wonderful time connecting with families at Palla Elementary’s Parent Resource Fair! As part of the school’s Open House and Family Picnic, we shared information about our programs and resources designed to help families save energy and reduce utility costs. Thank you to Palla Elementary for inviting us to be part of this great community event!

The Housing Authority of the County of Kern proudly hosted the annual Building Hope Conference — an inspiring event focused on empowering participants through personal and professional development.

This conference provides residents in programs with valuable knowledge, resources, and tools to help them move toward self-sufficiency and long-term success. Through workshops, networking, and meaningful conversations, participants are encouraged to develop strategies to overcome economic and social barriers while creating pathways to achieve their goals.

This fun-filled community event brought families, neighbors, and local organizations together for a day of connection, entertainment, and celebration. From live music and performances to vendors, food trucks, activities, and a kids zone, there was energy and excitement around every corner.

It was wonderful to see the community come together to learn more about local projects, enjoy free activities, and celebrate all that makes Southeast Bakersfield so special.
