Gear appreciation post!

One of our favorite tools for interviews is the EyeDirect setup (specifically the small folding one).

There’s a real emotional impact when you can look directly into someone’s eyes as they share their story. This rig lets us have a genuine, face-to-face conversation while giving the audience the same experience.

It used to be that having a subject look directly into the lens felt like a bold move that shook the viewer up. But recently we’ve noticed that everyone is so used to eye contact from zoom calls, influencer posts, and video podcasts that the audience doesn’t think twice about it. Just another tool in the belt.
