James Earl Jones lent his iconic voice to what many consider the greatest villain in cinematic history no fewer than ten times, spanning every Star Wars film to feature Darth Vader, including the infamous Holiday Special. Interestingly, the final time Jones physically recorded new dialogue for Vader was for The Rise of Skywalker. In 2022, he officially granted Lucasfilm the rights to recreate his voice using AI technology and archival recordings, allowing Darth Vader to sound authentic in projects like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Tales of the Empire, and beyond. Through this decision, Jones ensured that now and forever, he will always be the voice of Darth Vader.
