This might be the first time I’ve walked into a big box pet store and thought, “Okay, someone here actually gets it.”

The aquatics director at my local Petco is incredible, and this setup proves it. Instead of just pushing people to buy fish, they’re teaching them about cycling a tank, testing water, choosing compatible species, using proper equipment, and not rushing into the hobby.

“Fish keeping is a hobby, not a hurry” needs to be printed on every aquarium aisle in America.

Be honest, would this make you feel better buying from a chain store, or do you still think fish sales should be left to specialty shops only?
