✨ NOVA Award Honoree - Celebrating a remarkable young leader in our community! ✨

Last Thursday, July 9, 2026, the Town of Avon was honored to present the NOVA Award to **Mya Coston**, recognizing her outstanding commitment to serving others and making a lasting impact in our community.

Introduced by **Gary Ackmann**, with remarks from **Matt Shockley, Principal of Avon High School**, Mya's story is a testament to the power of selfless service and leadership at a young age.

At just 15 years old, Mya has demonstrated that age is no barrier to making a difference. While maintaining an impressive **4.6 GPA**, she has dedicated countless hours to serving others through the Avon High School Interact Club, the MLM Community Pantry, Project Angel, Crossroads Daycare, the Indy Honor Flight Reunion, the Healthcare Gala, and by regularly volunteering at Independence Village and Park Square Manor.

Beyond her volunteer service, Mya is actively involved in the Pre-Med Club, United in Medicine Club, Bring Change to Mind Club, and Global Outreach, further demonstrating her passion for leadership, service, and helping others.

Mya truly embodies the spirit of the NOVA Award. Her compassion, dedication, and commitment to giving back have touched countless lives, and we are proud to recognize her as one of Avon's outstanding young leaders.
