This article explains how new voting laws — especially proposals like the SAVE Act — could make it much harder for young people to register and participate in elections. Young voters are more likely to rely on online, mail-in, or DMV-based registration, all of which could be restricted, young people also move more frequently and are less likely to have documents like passports, making these new requirements especially burdensome. These changes would deepen existing barriers and could significantly reduce youth voter turnout.

This article lays out how the SAVE Act would fall especially hard on disabled voters, making it much harder — and in many cases impossible — for them to participate in elections. the bill would ban mail in voter registration and require everyone to register in person, a huge barrier for many disabled people who can’t drive, don’t have accessible transportation, or rely on support workers who wouldn’t be allowed to register on their behalf. These changes aren’t just an inconvenience; they would effectively block thousands of disabled Americans from voting at all, stripping away their voice in our democracy.
