Today, after receiving ashes with Lucy Gassiot Trainor and our youngest son, Andrew, these words hit home more than ever. In a world full of noise and division, we must stay humble, listen to that still small voice of conscience and faith, and never harden our hearts to truth, service, or the call to stand for what's right.

As we begin this Lenten season, I'm grateful for moments like this, grounding us in what truly matters: family, faith, and fighting for the principles that make our nation strong.

Praying for all of you as we journey through Lent together. Let's keep our hearts open, our resolve firm, and our focus on building a better future for Texas and America.

Earlier today, I watched my 18-year-old son, Patrick, cast his very first vote in the Republican Party of Texas Primary.

As a father of six, it fills my heart with pride to see my children step up to their civic responsibility and vote to advance conservative principles that matter to our family and our state. Patrick has now participated in exactly one Texas Republican Primary... which is more than some of my opponents have ever done in their lifetimes.

In fact, Patrick has now voted in the same number of Texas Republican Primaries as Mark Teixeira and Jason Cahill (and more if they didn't vote earlier today). Those two are asking Republican Primary voters like you to support them for Congress—yet they've never taken the time themselves to show up and vote in a single Texas Republican Primary until their own names are on the ballot.

Why should voters show up for candidates who wouldn't do the same for proven conservatives like President Donald J. Trump or Senator Ted Cruz?

Today, my first-time voter son is already demonstrating more civic responsibility than some who've been around far longer. That's the kind of commitment Texas deserves in Congress! A person who consistently shows up for our values, not just when it suits them.

I’m honored to have the endorsement and support of strong, principled conservative organizations across Texas.

These groups do their homework. They evaluate records, positions, and commitment to conservative values before making their decisions. Their support reflects a shared belief in election integrity, border security, fiscal responsibility, and protecting our constitutional freedoms.
