Every bent gate has a story.
This one belongs to a couple Brahman mamas who refused to believe a gate should stand between them and their calves.
That’s one of the reasons we love this breed so much. Their maternal instinct runs deep. They’re loyal, protective, and absolutely committed to their babies.
Come hell or high water. Gate be damned.
Around here, at least this week, motherhood is measured in steel.

A Brahman mama recognizes a Brahman mama.
I’ve been trying to really nail down our niche in the cow calf commercial market for awhile now. We dont raise show cows and we haven’t gone all in on a beef operation but this year we’ve sold about 20 “really chill” calves. And that keeps bringing people back. We’ll take it.

What did yall do tonight? We tried to get this white mama in the chute to help her baby nurse. To no avail. All that milk and this poor babes stuck sucking from a bottle. Here’s hoping he figures it out before my mama decides to take them to the sale barn.
