Thinking about becoming a volunteer Mentor with Explore Austin or know someone who is? Our Mentor Recruitment event, underwritten by Benchmark Bank - Austin, will include refreshments, networking, and a 45-minute Q&A session with current program Mentors. They'll share their experiences and provide answers to questions like:
👉 What is the time commitment?
👉 What if I'm not an outdoorsy person?
👉 Can I be a Mentor if I've never worked with kids?
👉 Is there a cost to participate?

The '31 Mermaid Explorers Team went on their very first out-of-state, weeklong Summer Wilderness Trip -- a backpacking experience on the Eagle Rock Loop Trail in Arkansas 🥾
Traveling through the southwestern portion of the Ouachita National Forest, this trail offers the longest loop trail in Arkansas and was developed along a 100-year-old postal route and old wagon roads!

⛺🥾 Gear Checks and Receives occur at the Explore Austin Warehouse in Del Valle through July 25. We need your help to ensure our 250+ Explorers and Mentors are outfitted appropriately for their trips ("Gear Check" shifts) and return from them safely ("Receive" shifts)- especially for the upcoming Saturday shifts.
