I’ve seen firsthand how our Southern border has been politicized.

As a Texas Army National Guard officer, I supported Operation Guardian Support, Operation Lone Star, and other missions focused on border security and public safety. I received military awards for my work. I know what it means to take this issue seriously.

That’s why I’ve been so frustrated watching immigration and border security become more polarized instead of more solvable. I know border security matters. But I also know that a broken immigration system, political games, and a lack of accountability aren’t making us safer. They’re costing lives, breaking up families, and upending communities.

For years, we’ve watched the pendulum swing from inaction to overcorrection. We’ve lost the humanity in this debate. We’ve lost sight of the fact that immigrants contribute to our communities, while also ignoring the reality that our immigration system is broken and demands serious reform.

I hear from business owners, school administrators, clergy, and so many others across our district who aren’t asking for more political fights. They’re asking for solutions.

We need leaders with the political courage to secure our border, hold people accountable, and finally pass meaningful immigration reform.

Because after decades of political games, Americans deserve representatives in Congress willing to stop using this issue as a wedge and start doing the hard work of fixing it.

Everyone in this district deserves to be heard. That’s why I show up in Grimes County and across TX-10 - to hear from the people who live here. In Congress, I’ll work for everyone I represent, not just the people who agree with me and not the special interests that tend to get heard louder than the communities that actually live with the consequences.

A day well spent with neighbors across our district, from VFW halls to the Capitol to neighborhood block parties.

One of the greatest gifts of being married to an immigrant is seeing America through his eyes. Even in moments when our politics can feel hopelessly divided, his story reminds me just how much opportunity and hope this country still offers.

Today, I’m grateful to be an American and reminded that every generation has a role in leaving our nation better than we found it.
