CoXist’s Lakesong Retreat is no different. Frank and Megan Lin created just such an experience through carefully selected materials, intentional views, and interaction with the environment. Every component, from the floor-to-ceiling glazing to the handmade bricks, was chosen to create connection to the outdoors, and play a part in the story being told. We loved the entrance of the Garner Residence! The double-height entry vestibule beautifully blurs the boundary between the front courtyard and the backyard. The dynamic volume changes along the X, Y, and Z axes create an incredible sense of movement and depth.

The breeze block screen at the second-level catwalk not only offers stunning light play through the blocks but also ensures privacy at night.
