Here's the latest update on positive Rabies cases in our area....these are in areas I frequent with my own dogs....please remember to keep your Rabies vaccinations for your pets current:

Thus far in 2015 Travis County has reported two laboratory-confirmed terrestrial mammal rabies cases from the southwestern part of the county. The first case occurred in February in a skunk that died of the South Central Skunk strain. The skunk was located south of the intersection of Mopac Expressway and Highway 290.

A second case occurred in early May in a RACCOON in the Hamilton Pool Road area. Tests are ongoing to determine the rabies strain that infected the RACCOON.
