Have you ever heard the saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover?” Yeah, of course you have. Think long and deeply about that, though. Who we are on Facebook is different than who we are on Instagram is different than who we are when our aunt comes into town to visit. We are masters of an art called deception and we mold ourselves to who other people want us to be daily. Instead, embrace the liberty of being yourself. Your cover is yours and it is unique, but it’s the words that flow through you that inevitably matter 🌊

When is the last time someone told you to pick up a book? 📚Like, the kind of book with dragons or fantastical beasts or memoirs of long forgotten heroes? Don’t worry, it’s been since grade school for me too. Words are so abundant and so beautiful, yet we use the same few every day to express ourselves. I challenge you to do something new today. Pick up a book and let yourself fall into the pages. Use a word that you learned when studying for the SAT. Not only will your heart thank you, but so will your mind as it grows 🌿
