Jeremy Atkins is a lifelong fan of comic books, toys, and music. He first began his publicity career at the storied and stalwart Olympia, Washington independent record label K, where he promoted the early works of bands like Modest Mouse. His time there also landed him on the cover of the 2001 live album by indie darlings Built to Spill. From here, he found himself in the comics industry at Dark Horse.
In his decade long stint there, he oversaw publicity for two Hellboy films, the adaptation of Frank MIller’s Sin City, and the launch of Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba’s Umbrella Academy, and so many more. Since then, he has worked for almost every publisher and creator working today.
He brings this experience to Modern Fanatic, as one of the agency’s partners, where he has developed and led campaigns for our wide range of clients and partners already at the forefront of pop culture, or acts as the catalyst to carry them there alongside the efforts of an amazing team.
As a January birthday, instead of reflecting back on what was, today he looks forward to what is to come for the agency in 2025.
“A few years into our time as an agency, we already have so many success stories to celebrate and have worked on some of the most rewarding projects for brands both endemic and aspiring within the wide world of fandom. In 2025, we aim to not only trade on the reputation and track record of success, but to continue to bring authenticity to fans of anything everywhere, with my eye particularly on the exploding nonalcoholic craft beverage space. Meanwhile, I can’t wait to continue our work with the most successful toy and hobby company in the world, further expand the US footprint of international clients like and Rainbow Entertainment, and of course, continue to promote the works of the comic book industry’s top creators like , and growing publishers like and .”

“When I was asked what was my favorite program that Modern Fanatic worked on in 2024 it was an impossible task. All programs we worked on had their unique set of objectives, challenges, strategies and personalities. Some were great, some were challenging and a very few deemed insurmountable. However, we took on every challenge and our team performed exceptionally well.
SO! I would like to take a different approach and focus on the growth and expanse challenges a relatively new agency encounters. What inspired me in 2024 was how Modern Fanatic not only took on new clients but new categories with full passion and a can-do attitude.
From GAMA to PAX East and ComicCon NYC to SDCC and many more the Modern Fanatic team as always, was resilient and took on new chapters and categories every step of the way. I have always been one to break the rules and bend them to achieve an objective. I cannot wait for 2025 and all the new challenges and clients to join our never-ending battle in championing Fandom!
Have a great New Years everyone and see you in the new year!”
