UPDATE! We found a mover! We can still use volunteers to help us with this office move from the 2nd floor to the first floor (same building) with an elevator!

Help! We need a recommendation for a local mover that can help us move our office from our second floor suite to our new first floor suite - same building/address. Elevator available. Must be able to provide certificate of insurance and W9.

Please join us in celebrating an incredible milestone for Monte Osburn—six years as Executive Director of the Foundation for the Homeless! 🎉

Monte stepped into leadership in April 2020—right as the world was being turned upside down by the COVID-19 pandemic. At a time when uncertainty was everywhere and the need in our community was surging, he didn’t hesitate. Instead, he leaned in with compassion, experience, and a clear commitment to serving Austin’s most vulnerable families.

Under Monte’s leadership, the Foundation for the Homeless has strengthened its mission of empowering families experiencing homelessness with dignity, opportunity, and lasting solutions. From expanding programs like rapid re-housing for families with children to mobilizing community partnerships that deliver food, housing support, and critical services, the organization has dramatically increased its impact during a time when it mattered most.

With more than three decades of nonprofit leadership experience, Monte brought steady guidance during one of the most challenging periods in recent history—and helped turn that challenge into meaningful growth in support for families across Central Texas.

Because of his leadership, more families are finding stability, more individuals are receiving essential services, and more hope is being restored every day.

Thank you, Monte, for six years of dedication, resilience, and heart. Here’s to the impact you’ve made—and the lives you continue to change. 💙

The tip of the iceberg: for every person sleeping on the street, many more are couch-surfing, living in cars, or rotating through cheap motels. These "invisible homeless" often don't access services because they don't see themselves as homeless. Foundation for the Homeless meets people wherever they are — figuratively and literally.
