Kicked off the new year with a reunion of the McDonnell’s in San Antonio. We see less and less of each other as the years pass, but the familiarity and the love is still there.

I’m actively pursuing my goal of mastery, and what I’m finding that balance and forgiveness is very important part of the strategy. Balance to roll back some of my activities from last year and focus on sharpening my skills, while adding others to compound and leverage how to get faster at mastery — lots of reading and youtube tutorials to thank for that.

I really loved that I got to see some of my closest family and friends this month. Celebrating my Aunt and Uncle’s 50th wedding anniversary really made me see and appreciate love and commitment in a different way. I’ll probably never see 50 years of marriage and that’s humbling. 

Hanging with my longest and best friend Justin and his wife Katy who have been married for 18 years, was a delight too. During the pandemic they bought a boat and Australia and had a kiddo — he’s about to turn three . They're on their way back to live the nomad boat life for a few more years sailing around Australia and Indonesia. They invited me to join them in Bali in the summer — I could be down. 

So far this year has started well. Things are centered, and I’m making some big strides in my health and leadership goals as well. I’m looking forward to February, doesn’t look like it’s going to freeze like year past, but I’m ready for it if it does.

This month was a festive one for me. I got into the holiday spirit right away and made the most of it in the first half of December. 

I did a bunch of X-mas activities locally, bought presents, and danced my heart out at the GoDance Winter Showcase. After that, I took some time to wind down, to chill and relax before going home to visit my family in Carrollton. 

This was my 3rd December in Austin since returning and I have some pretty great traditions and trips set for this time of year. I’ve been working on a lot of upgrades for next year, and really want to continue to invest myself in the City, and work on Mastering my craft more this year.
