I'm grateful for the messages. 10-20 people sending messages asking 1-2 questions quickly turns into 10-40 questions which is a lot of energy that I do not possess at the moment.

Trauma survivors aren't trying to be jerks when we avoid calls or skip appointments or cancel outings— avoidance is a post traumatic symptom.

We can work on it, but we gotta recognize avoidance is part of the trauma package— not us trying to be aloof or feeling entitled.

I never could have imagined needing to write an obituary or a eulogy for my only child 😢💔

I also couldn't fathom me leaving him alone in this world knowing his mental state and the little support we'd received so far.

My daily prayer was that he would be able recognize that he didn't have to figure his struggle out alone, and would seek help as our laws require.

But God was ready for him to return home to Him. Despite my grief and the almost unbearable ache from missing him so, so much, one of my biggest fears for him no longer exists. It's so bittersweet. 💛

I was grateful to finally visit my dad's resting place when I was back home over Mother's Day weekend.
