Hungry Souls

Our June Volunteer Spotlight is someone whose passion for serving others and dedication to our mission continually inspires us.

Dan was introduced to Hungry Souls by last month's Volunteer Spotlight, Lance. After hearing about the work Hungry Souls was doing, Dan came to a Tuesday night packing party. That was about a year and a half ago!

Believe it or not, his favorite part about volunteering when he first started was cutting and stacking cardboard, he says it was therapeutic. But what kept him coming back was something much deeper. As a child, Dan relied on free and reduced-price school meals, and having experienced food insecurity firsthand, he understands how difficult it is for children to be successful when they're hungry.

Today, Dan is one of our most dedicated volunteers, helping with grocery deliveries on Tuesdays and driving school delivery routes on Thursdays. Beyond his weekly volunteer shifts, he's passionate about growing awareness of Hungry Souls throughout the community. Last month's car meet? You have Dan to thank for making it happen! We love to say "we want to know who you know" and he's a testament to that sentiment. He's always looking for new ways to connect others to the mission and help expand our impact.
