Purple Heart Day – Say thank you to those who sacrificed Please take some time on August 7 to reflect on Purple Heart Day, an observance created to commemorate the men and women who have been killed or wounded during military service.

In search of more female WWII veterans for a special trip to visit the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. As of today we only have one female WWII veteran confirmed. See below for more details. Please help disseminate.

Honor Flight Austin is working with the Gary Sinse Foundation’s Soaring Valor Program, taking 40 WWII Veterans from Austin on an all expense paid trip to visit and experience the National WWII Museum in New Orleans in September.

Austin's Airport Boulevard becomes 'Richard Overton Memorial Highway' Mr. Overton was an Austinite and the nation's oldest World War II veteran. He passed away in December of 2018 after a battle with pneumonia.
