Helping students reflect on their interests and values can provide insights into the types of careers and schooling that may be a good fit. Whether they value helping others, solving problems, being creative, working outdoors, or having flexibility in their career, those priorities can help guide their exploration.

The next step is to turn those insights into action. Students can realize opportunities by joining clubs, volunteering, participating in job shadowing experiences, attending career fairs, taking career assessments, or exploring courses related to their interests. The THECB is proud to announce this year's My Texas Future Schools of Excellence, celebrating campuses that are transforming how students plan for success after graduation!🙌 This new award recognizes schools that are not only using the My Texas Future platform — but truly embedding it into their culture and to help students explore pathways to high-demand careers and meaningful postsecondary opportunities!

We’ll honor our three award recipients during our May 12 Professional Learning Series session. We’ll also celebrate all schools that participated in the My Texas Future Recognition Program, thanking them for their efforts to prepare students for the Direct Admissions and My Texas Future graduation requirement!
