Growing up as a military brat I was fortunate to be exposed to a variety of races and cultures. In addition, my parents were BIG on education and moving through the world as someone who IS EDUCATED. That being said I was often told by my white friends that "We don't consider YOU black...you're not like THEM" or "You don't act/talk like a ni**er" which, on some level, was SUPPOSED to be a compliment. But what you're REALLY saying is you consider black folk to be beneath you and I just happened to shatter your stereotypes. Racism in my music is nothing new. It is often uncomfortable. My response to that is this...your discomfort over discussing racism pales in comparison to my discomfort from being the TARGET of that racism.

I can't think of a single thing to celebrate today other than Obama!
