In Africa, something in me settles.
I move with nature, no rushing, no noise, just the rhythm of the day. The sky feels bigger, the horizon feels endless, and somehow that alone puts things back in perspective.
Mornings don’t feel frantic. Dawn feels like an invitation to wake up slowly and actually notice life. And when the sun starts to drop, everything softens. The land goes quiet, and my mind follows.
Out there, with all that open space, my ego doesn’t stand a chance.
There’s just too much truth in the landscape to keep pretending.

Thanksgiving, to me, is not about revisiting the pain or politics of the past, it’s about gratitude in its purest form. It’s a moment to pause and recognize how much beauty still exists in this world, even amid its imperfections.
I give thanks for all the wonderful people who have walked beside me, friends, family, mentors, and even the strangers who showed kindness when I least expected it. I give thanks for the breathtaking places on this planet that have opened my heart and shaped my soul. Each experience, each connection, each journey has molded me into who I am today.
I choose positivity over negativity. I choose light over darkness. I choose happiness over sorrow. Because gratitude isn’t about forgetting, it’s about transforming. It’s about honoring the lessons, embracing the blessings, and walking forward with a thankful heart. So this Thanksgiving, let’s choose appreciation over argument, connection over criticism, and grace over guilt. Let’s give thanks for how far we’ve come, for the people who make our lives meaningful, and for the simple, sacred gift of being here, together.
This Thanksgiving, I am simply grateful, deeply, humbly, and wholly.
