At the start of every month, after I figure out and , I make sure I actually have time for all the things I want to do. Here’s an in process look at how I build out my time budget.

Much like my $ , I’m not always the best at sticking to it, but just the work of figuring out how much I have and how I want to spend it, keeps me more mindful. It’s the same with time. I didn’t budget much for tv, so when I find myself caught up in a marathon, there’s at least a flicker of a thought that this means saying ‘no’ to something else.

January embarrassingly reveals I read a lot of that, if you could see my ratings column clearly, you’d know was not good.
• love tracking books because I always forget what I read and liked, as well as books I want to read, that I add to this list to help remind me to read ‘em!
• btw, if you have any good YA recommendations, send em my way!!!

Anyone got preferred methods for tracking habits? Here are a couple I played with last month (and don’t judge my face washing or lack thereof).
1. Bootcamp is my bible plan that I wanted to do five times a week. So at the start of the month I wrote out 1x5 (for week one) 2x5 (for week two) etc. then, I colored the boxes green if I did it that week, and red if I missed a day. I liked this for habits that I want to do a number of times a week.
2. Writing- I just translated all the blank boxes as hours. Each one represented an hour I wanted to write this month. Highlighted it in purple when I did it!
3. Up by 7 am- I wrote out the dates of the month in each box at the start of the month, then highlighted green if I hit the goal and red if I missed. This works well for habits that you want to do daily
4. Wash face- the old fashioned just check-the-box if you do it approach. Hmmm.
5. Blog- I just figured out how many times I wanted to blog in a month and the slashed through all the extra boxes. This looks a little confusing so maybe next to I would mark off irrelevant boxes using a black marker? I like this approach though for habits that you want to have happen a certain number of times a month, but don’t care when!
All in all - loving my new and cannot wait to set up February!!
