What a time yesterday. Thanks to everyone that came out. It was really, really good seeing everyone, and I genuinely mean that. Trey, Courtney, and Matt, y’all were incredible. Thank you for your song and your gift and thank you for trusting me to lead the song circle. I’ve never done that before and that was a very cool experience that happened I think by chance.
I also debuted 5 new songs last night that were all received extremely well. Huge plus. A big thanks to Sonic Guild for hosting us, 04 for having us, and Good Wolf for promoting the showcase. And a very special thanks to my wife for rolling some video and photo. I love you babe. I love you all. I love my life. Thank you all, my heart is full.
I remember walking into the green room for my album release back in 2022 and making the setlist for the night. I put in this new song I had been working on called “Out of Sight” - and I remember thinking.. I’m gonna play it.. brand new song in front of 300 folks. It was like walking a tightrope. New material can be extremely challenging because you’re letting go of comforts and the things that got you to where you are… I’m constantly asking “is it good enough” will it sound and/or look as good as the last release. Ultimately, can I stand behind it and say I’m proud of it. That’s the season I’m in right now. I’ve been really quiet and kind of a hermit lately, and there’s a lot of work to do, and I thank you for being along for the ride. Live at Paramount Stateside will drop this summer as both a concert film and a documentary via YouTube. Here’s to new things, to looking back, and moving forward. Thank you for being on this journey with me.

Everyone wish the incredible a very happy birthday. We’ve been playing together for a few years now and we’ve become the best of friends, and I’m so glad to share the stage with you whenever I can. I hope you have the best day today. We love you so much.

I’ve loved The Maker for years. Dave Matthews Band has covered it forever, and a few months ago I finally sat down and learned it myself.
There’s something deeply spiritual and human about this song that just stays with me.
Loved hearing Jacob take this solo completely in the moment — one of those live music moments you can’t plan, only feel.

A few months ago, out on the road, I made a decision—stop playing it safe and start showing up everywhere. I’m throwing my name in every hat I can find. Not to compete with anyone else, but to raise my own standard.
Today I got the email—didn’t make the Top 25 for New Folk at Kerrville.
Yesterday, it stung.
Today, it’s premium fuel.
Rejection isn’t a detour on the path. It is the path. It sharpens you, stretches you, and tells you exactly how bad you want it.
