Unpopular Opinion: I love being a therapist, but I don’t love going to therapy.

That’s because I tend to intellectualize my feelings rather than actually *feeling* them. So I start with body work - massage and acupuncture to help me feel it physically, and then I can articulate and process the words.

That’s not to say therapy isn’t helpful, because we sure know it is. It’s more to reassure you that it’s not the only answere - and that sometimes we need a mix of things to truly work it out.

Behind the Scenes: Admin Day

There’s a dearth of effective ADHD assessment tools for adult women and AFAB folks, and I’m attempting to remedy that. Let me tell you, Google Sheets sucks, but I’m mucking my way through.

If you're a child of the 90s or early 2000s, then I've no doubt you're familiar with the term "high-functioning."

Hell, you may even still consider it a compliment.

But this blog takes a deeper look into why "high-functioning" - especially as it applies to neurodivergent women and AFAB folks is particularly insidious and harmful.

I also talk about person-centered ways to dismantle this term so we can all do better.

Y'all, I am so excited to share the start of this blog series about ADHD in Women (of all definitions) & AFAB folks.

This series is inspired by many of my clients' - and my own - experience with late-diagnosis ADHD. The relief. The frustration. The grief. The chaos and hilarity. The 'what now.'

So if you're in your 30s or 40s reading this post, and your five best friends have all been diagnosed, you might want to click that link below. Because, well, like finds like in the end.

Read it here: https://www.prismintegratedhealth.com/blog/why-wasnt-i-diagnosed-sooner-the-hidden-presentation-of-adhd-in-women-amp-afab-people

And in the meantime, what's your most unhinged ADHD hack?
