⚠️ This happened in our backyard — and it's a reminder worth paying attention to.

Earlier this week, multiple Spectrum fiber-optic lines were deliberately cut overnight in north Austin near the Wells Branch neighborhood. Spectrum is calling it a "criminal attack" on their infrastructure — one that knocked out internet and phone service for homes, businesses, and potentially emergency services in the area.

This kind of incident is a good reminder that physical security isn't just about locking doors. Outdoor infrastructure — utility lines, equipment enclosures, rooftop hardware, parking areas — is often the most overlooked and most vulnerable part of a facility's security posture.

Attacks like this typically happen at night, in low-traffic areas, with no witnesses. The best deterrent? Making sure those areas aren't invisible.

Perimeter surveillance, motion detection, and outdoor cameras in the right locations can make the difference between catching something early and finding out the next morning when the damage is already done.
