Front Porch Extension Progress Update 👷♂️
We’ve officially wrapped up roofing, shingles, fascia, and waterproofing on this custom front porch extension. The house looks pink right now—and no, it’s not paint 😅—that’s our waterproof membrane system, which protects the structure before siding and masonry go on.
This porch extension is built on a steel structural framework, designed for long-term durability and clean architectural lines. We’ve tied the new roof seamlessly into the existing home, installed proper flashing and membranes, and now we’re ready to move into the next phase.
Up next:
➡️ Siding installation
➡️ Brickwork on the front façade
➡️ Final exterior detailing
Projects like this are all about doing things in the right order—structure first, waterproofing second, finishes last—so the end result looks great and lasts for decades.
If you’re in Austin or Central Texas and thinking about a front porch extension, patio cover, steel porch structure, or exterior home addition, this is the exact process we follow.

Did y’all enjoy that Texas freeze? ❄️😅
Because we’re right back at it.
Framing is pretty much dialed in on this porch extension, and the guys are laying OSB decking so we’re ready for roofing next week — drip edge, marine-grade shingles, then siding right after.
But the star of this build is that custom steel gable over the front door 👉
It opens the elevation up, makes the house feel taller, and completely changes the presence from the street. Easily my favorite detail so far.
Still a few things to dial in, but this one’s coming together clean
