I am honored to be selected as a KVUE 5 Who Care Awards recipient.

My gratitude goes out to my arena, who have supported me in this endeavor. To my family, friends, volunteers, supporters, spiritual leaders, ISDs, advocates, and the special people whom I have met because of the causes we share, thank you. You all allow me to serve others, and you, too, share in this moment.

The KVUE 5 Who Care awards, created by Austin’s KVUE news station is celebrating 38 years. The awards have recognized outstanding adults and young people (often referred to as "5 Kids Who Care") who selflessly volunteer their time to improve the
Austin and the Central Texas community.

I love Austin. I was born here and share in the history of Austin's acceleration and deceleration. One thing is clear in these moments: Austin comes through when an opportunity is presented, and that makes us special.

"Every experience in our life has a purpose. Our experiences allow us to show what God can do with the strong starts, the timid starts, and the unlikely starts". Each carries a promise of interruption."
I believe He will not lead you where his grace has no presence.

I would also offer a special shout-out to Brenda Jones, Child Protective Services, who goes above and beyond to ensure that our children never miss this special moment, and
Keep it Digital, which captured every Prom Rack moment event over the years and gave each student and the organization an indelible history of memories.

The winners' inspiring stories are filmed in the spring, and a formal award ceremony is hosted on June 11 at the KVUE studio.
