Lemon Woman Photography

Lately during my shoots, I feel very drawn to catching a quick little snap of the one person in the family who *usually* is featured the least in the family albums. Mamas are the ones who are behind the camera, the keepers and recorders of family history, the ones who contact me to set up the family pictures. I want them to have a picture too. For their children and partners to have an image to treasure of the person who works so hard to keep the heart of the family beating. And for that mom, to have her own piece of her history recorded from that time in her life. The day I give it to her she may avert her eyes, thinking she has a hair out of place or wishing she weighed less, but many years later it’s possible she may pull that image back out and look upon her own face lovingly and with acceptance or even longing, remembering how it felt. And that’s why I love to do this. What an honor.
