Extrovergent: ADHD Brain
07/10/2026
Maybe you were never “too much.”
Maybe you were expressive in a world that rewarded silence.
Maybe you asked questions when everyone else accepted the rules.
Maybe you felt deeply in a world that told you to toughen up.
Being different doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong with you.
Sometimes it just means you haven’t found people who appreciate the way your brain works.
🧡 If this resonated, save it for the days you need the reminder.
Have you ever been told you were “too much?”
POV: They asked me to film a serious Netflix documentary about my ADHD… and I forgot to show up. 😅
If you’ve ever walked into a room and forgotten why, missed an appointment you swore you’d remember, or had your brain completely disappear mid-thought… you’re not alone.
What’s the most ADHD thing you’ve done this week? 😂👇

Most people see the missed deadline, the unfinished task, the messy room, or the forgotten appointment.
But they don’t always see the invisible effort underneath.
In this episode of Hidden in Plain Sight, I sit down with ADHD Coach Ryan Mayer to talk about the hidden truths of ADHD — laziness myths, masking, burnout, executive dysfunction, interest-based attention, and why everyday tasks can take more energy than people realize.
Ryan shared the duck analogy: calm on the surface, working like crazy underneath.
And honestly? That explains so much.
If you’ve ever felt like you were trying harder than anyone could see, this episode is for you.

“You don’t look disabled.”
It’s a phrase many people have heard.
It’s often meant as a compliment.
But for someone living with an invisible disability, it can feel like their experiences are being questioned.
Disability Pride Month isn’t about pretending that disability is easy or that the challenges aren’t real.
It’s about recognizing that disability is one part of a person’s story—not their entire identity. It’s about pushing back against the idea that someone has to “look disabled” or prove they’re struggling before they deserve understanding, accommodations, or compassion.
Many people spend years masking their symptoms, hiding their pain, or exhausting themselves trying to fit into a world that wasn’t designed with them in mind.
Whether you live with ADHD, autism, PTSD, chronic illness, anxiety, a learning disability, or another visible or invisible disability, your experiences are real.
You don’t have to earn acceptance by hiding who you are.
This month, I hope more conversations lead to understanding, less judgment, and a world where people feel safe enough to be themselves.
🧡 I’d love to hear from you.
What’s one thing you wish more people understood about living with a disability or being neurodivergent?
Let’s make the comments a place where people feel seen, heard, and understood.
Sometimes ADHD looks like “doing fine” on the outside.
But underneath?
It can feel like using twice the energy just to do what looks easy to everyone else.
That’s why so many people with ADHD get misunderstood. 🧠 Listen to the Hidden in Plain Sight Podcast by Extrovergent on your favorite streaming platform.
Most people think ADHD is just being distracted, forgetful, or unable to focus.
But the hidden truth is deeper.
ADHD can look like missed deadlines, unfinished laundry, emotional exhaustion, burnout, masking, and constantly trying harder than people realize.
In this episode of Hidden in Plain Sight, Extrovergent sits down with Ryan Mayer ADHD Coaching to talk about the invisible side of ADHD — the shame, the effort, the misunderstandings, and the reality of living with a brain that works differently.
We talk about why ADHD is not laziness, how interest-based attention works, why everyday tasks can feel overwhelming, and how the right environment and support can change everything.
If you have ADHD, love someone with ADHD, or have ever felt misunderstood, this conversation is for you.

🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July, Brain Crew. 🧠🧡
Today celebrates freedom…but for many neurodivergent people, one of the greatest freedoms is something much quieter.
The freedom to unmask.
To stop apologizing for how your brain works.
To stim without shame.
To set boundaries without guilt.
To wear headphones if the fireworks are too much.
To leave early if you’re overwhelmed.
To exist without feeling like you have to explain yourself.
If you’re celebrating today, I hope it’s in a way that feels right for you…not because it’s what everyone else expects.
Your needs are valid.
Your pace is valid.
Your way of experiencing the world is valid.
Wishing you a safe, peaceful, and joy-filled Independence Day.
🧡 Remember to love yourself, just the way you are.
Because of my ADHD I feel like squirrels 🐿️ are running my podcast. It’s fun though. Check it out. It’s called Hidden in Plain Sight by Extrovergent
Hello, July. ☀️🧡
A new month doesn’t erase the hard days you’ve had.
It doesn’t mean you’ll suddenly have everything figured out.
But it does give you another chance.
Another chance to be kinder to yourself.
Another chance to rest without guilt.
Another chance to grow at your own pace.
Another chance to stop measuring your worth by your productivity.
You don’t have to become a completely different person this month.
Just keep showing up.
One conversation.
One boundary.
One laugh.
One deep breath.
One small step at a time.
Progress isn’t always loud.
Sometimes it looks like simply refusing to give up.
Whatever you’re carrying into July, I hope you also carry this:
You don’t have to earn your worth. You already have it.
Here’s to a month of growth, healing, and learning to love ourselves exactly where we are.
🧡 Happy July, Brain Crew.
