First week of summer officially in the books, and it already feels like we’re hitting our stride—later nights, slower mornings, and that shift where schedules loosen just enough to breathe a little.

Between the usual hustle and a few moments to soak it all in, I’m reminded how quickly this season flies by. Whether it’s time at the pool, last-minute plans with friends, or just enjoying a quieter pace at home, there’s something about this time of year that resets everything in the best way.

And if you’re looking to get out this weekend, Austin has plenty going on—from the ATX TV Festival downtown to live music, local pop-ups, and even an Austin Sol game under the lights. A little something for every kind of summer mood.

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, it’s a moment to pause and remember why we celebrate. Memorial Day is about honoring the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country—a day rooted in gratitude, reflection, and remembrance. Here in Texas, it also marks the unofficial start of summer, bringing with it some of our favorite traditions—lake days, backyard BBQs, time at the pool, and gathering with friends and family.

Whether it’s firing up the grill, heading out to the Hill Country, or simply enjoying a slower pace for a long weekend, it’s a time to connect, reflect, and appreciate both the freedoms we enjoy and the people we share them with.
