I'm sad today. I lost another friend. As I get older, loss is becoming more common.

A few wise quotes I've heard recently that are very true.

1) Up until age 40, life is all about addition (job, relationships, career growth, kids, etc). After 40, life becomes all about subtraction (loss of job, family, friends, health, etc).

2) Ages 25-45 are the most painful years of our lives because there is so much happening with finishing school, starting a career, getting married, starting a family, caring for older/sick parents, starting to lose people that matter to you. And the elderly cohort is actually the happiest because you get to enjoy your golden years; even without the greatest of health, elder people generally know how to appreciate life the most. The trouble is, not everyone gets to make it to old age. It is truly a blessing only God can give.

My dear friend Jana Hellbusch passed away. She was a great agent who helped me in my early real estate days. She helped me out with client referrals and assisted with showings when I could not. I reciprocated whenever possible but she was a treasure that will be missed.

I know she is with Jesus. Love you, my friend.
