Animals brighten many people's lives, but did you know they can be used as a therapeutic intervention? πΎ
Animal-assisted therapy is a relatively new intervention where therapists bring in trained animals to enhance clients' emotional well-being. While research in animal-assisted therapy is still in the beginning stages, recent studies show that clients experience a reduction in stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms, and it has been effectively used across age groups. Frankie, seen here, has brought her clients much joy and comfort during their time at CAC. π
