I suppose this song is about my ever-shifting, ever-elusive concept of a “higher power.” The peace, love, and beauty that is present in all things and yet can be ever so hard to pin down sometimes. I have been playing live music since I was 11 years old. Throughout that time I have played with lots of musicians and had many amazing full band shows. However, over the past three years, I’ve focused more on other projects and on playing cover gigs to make a living. While I’m grateful for all of the opportunities I’ve had during that time, I’ve really missed having the opportunity to share my art with an audience in the format for which it was intended—with a full band at a proper listening room venue.

So, I’m beyond excited for my show on Friday w/ . I cannot wait to showcase the music I’ve been working on over the past few years, as well as the amazing talent of the musicians who will be playing with me. Seriously, I can hardly express how grateful I am for these absolute gems of human beings who are willing to dedicate their time to this project.

As I get older, I care less and less about ego or self aggrandizement, and more about embracing collaboration and community in an effort to create art that will hopefully have a positive impact on people’s lives.
All that being said, if you live in Austin, grab yourself a ticket and come hang out with us!

I know hardly anyone will read this entire post, but in this world of content designed for 3 second attention spans, I want to work on trying to post things with a little more authenticity and substance, even if it is not as widely viewed. Thank you all so so much for supporting me!
