Austin Pilates Barn

On May 8th, 2026, the city of Mönchengladbach, represented by the mayor and city council, inaugurated the naming of this square surrounding his birthplace as “Joseph Pilates Platz.” This is the result of the endless efforts of the International Pilates Heritage conference team. It is a living tribute to the legacy of Joseph and Clara Pilates — a space for authentic practice, the study of origins, and the preservation of the Method in its essence.
