Pachamama Church

La Pachamama Native American Church (PNAC), como parte de la Native American Church, ha publicado un comunicado oficial tras el cierre de la IV Asamblea de los Pueblos Originarios, celebrada en enero de 2026 en territorio ancestral muisca, Colombia.
El comunicado informa sobre la liberación del Anciano Lakota, Chief Marvin LittleHawk Swallow en Japón por portar mambé, detención que coincidió en el tiempo con el inicio, por primera vez en la historia, de los debates internacionales sobre el estatus jurídico de la hoja de coca en el sistema de las Naciones Unidas. Dicho proceso continúa actualmente abierto y pendiente de nuevas fases de análisis y decisión en los órganos competentes.
En la defensa jurídica del Chief han intervenido, entre otros, autoridades y miembros de la Pachamama Native American Church, el Coordinador Jurídico Internacional de la PNAC, Òscar Palet Santandreu, así como los abogados japoneses Tatsuhiko Sakamoto y Kei Uemura (Uemura Sensei), junto con otros colaboradores internacionales, y el Consulado Americano en Fukuoka, Japón.
La Pachamama Native American Church reafirma que la hoja de coca no es co***na y que su defensa está ligada a la dignidad espiritual, la continuidad cultural y los derechos de los Pueblos Originarios. Asimismo, hace un llamado respetuoso y firme a los Estados y a las instituciones internacionales para que escuchen a los pueblos y reconozcan la convergencia entre ciencia, derechos humanos y espiritualidad en el marco de este proceso aún en curso.
En este contexto, la Iglesia anuncia el próximo lanzamiento de una campaña de financiación colectiva para apoyar su labor jurídica, técnica y organizativa en los foros internacionales.
Un momento decisivo para el reconocimiento de lo sagrado. Protegerlo no debilita la ley, la eleva.

The Pachamama Native American Church (PNAC), a branch of the Native American Church, has released an official statement following the closing of the Fourth Assembly of Indigenous Peoples, held in January 2026 in ancestral Muisca territory, Colombia.
The statement reports on the release in Japan of Lakota Elder, Chief Marvin LittleHawk Swallow, who had been detained for carrying mambe. His detention coincided in time with the beginning, for the first time in history, of international debates on the legal status of the coca leaf within the United Nations system. This process remains ongoing and is pending further stages of analysis and decision by the competent bodies.
The legal defense of the Chief involved, among others, authorities and members of the Pachamama Native American Church, the PNAC’s International Legal Coordinator, Òscar Palet Santandreu, as well as Japanese attorneys Tatsuhiko Sakamoto and Kei Uemura (Uemura Sensei), together with other international collaborators, and the American Consulate in Fukuoka, Japan.
The Pachamama Native American Church reaffirms that the coca leaf is not co***ne and that its defense is linked to spiritual dignity, cultural continuity, and the rights of Indigenous Peoples. It also issues a respectful yet firm call to States and international institutions to listen to Indigenous Peoples and to recognize the convergence of science, human rights, and spirituality within the framework of this ongoing process.
In this context, the Church announces the upcoming launch of a crowdfunding campaign to support its legal, technical, and organizational work in international forums.
A decisive moment for the recognition of the sacred. Protecting it does not weaken the law; it elevates it.

パチャママ・ネイティブ・アメリカン・チャーチ（PNAC）は、ネイティブ・アメリカン・チャーチの一部として、2026年1月にコロンビアのムイスカ族の祖先の地で開催された第4回先住民族会議の閉会を受け、公式声明を発表しました。
声明は、日本においてマムベを所持していたことにより拘束されていたラコタ族の長老、マービン・リトルホーク・スワロー酋長の解放について報告しています。この拘束は、国連制度におけるコカの葉の法的地位をめぐる国際的な議論が、歴史上初めて開始された時期と一致していました。このプロセスは現在も継続中であり、関係機関における今後の分析および決定の段階を待っている状況です。
同酋長の法的弁護には、パチャママ・ネイティブ・アメリカン・チャーチの関係者およびメンバーのほか、PNACの国際法務コーディネーターであるオスカル・パレ・サンタンドレウ、ならびに日本の弁護士である坂本達彦氏および上村圭氏（上村先生）、その他の国際的協力者、さらに日本・福岡にある米国総領事館が関与しました。
パチャママ・ネイティブ・アメリカン・チャーチは、コカの葉はコカインではないこと、そしてその擁護が精神的尊厳、文化的継続性、先住民族の権利と深く結びついていることを改めて表明しています。また、この現在進行中のプロセスにおいて、国家および国際機関に対し、先住民族の声に耳を傾け、科学、人権、精神性の交差を認識するよう、敬意をもって、かつ断固として呼びかけています。
この文脈において、同教会は、国際フォーラムにおける法的、技術的および組織的活動を支援するため、クラウドファンディング・キャンペーンを近日中に開始することを発表しました。
聖なるものが認められるための、決定的な瞬間です。
それを守ることは、法を弱めるのではなく、法を高めることです。
