David Moore, a long-time member of the mediator roster at Lakeside Mediation Center has announced his retirement.

David came to Lakeside Mediation Center after a long and storied career as a litigator and named partner at a local defense firm. During his legal career, David argued two pivotal cases at the Texas Supreme Court that helped shape the development of insurance law in Texas.

At Lakeside, David quickly gained a reputation as a superb mediator who was gifted in mediating family law cases. In addition to his mediation practice, David served as a licensed minister at Gateway Community Church and taught hundreds of couples how to constructively resolve conflict in their marriages.
This extensive experience gave David the unique ability to stay calm and steady during these highly emotional cases and to help the divorcing parties shift gears from hostility to cooperation.

David’s easy-going personality and kind manner will be missed, but we wish him and his family success and happiness in this next chapter.

Lakeside Mediation Center is proud to have helped sponsor the Austin Young Lawyer’s Foundation’s 2nd Annual Crawfish Boil. For over half a century, the AYLA has served Austin and the legal profession with a variety of volunteer programs such as free estate planning services to cancer patients and survivors, scholarships and free legal advice clinics for Veterans.
The young lawyers that we met at the event last weekend support the AYLA Foundation through countless hours of volunteer services. Our mediators and some of our old friends like, Steve Benesh, candidate for President-Elect of the State Bar helped raise the average age of the attendees!
