It really is this simple. You give seemingly harmless information in an effort to 'belong' and 'be friendly' online, but in reality you're giving away the answers to what are most likely your security questions that are used to unlock your accounts should you forget your password. Unscrupulous bad actors then easily 'hack' your account and wreak untold havoc.

Keep your personal information PERSONAL! If you've ever answered any of these 'surveys', then, as much as possible, go back into your Facebook history and delete your responses. You and your bank accounts will be glad you did.

Chances are that you've received a phone call or email saying your computer has a problem, you're owed money by the IRS, or any of a myriad of things where someone owes you money. Who wouldn't want to get more money, right?!?!

Chances also are very, very good that it's a scam. Payment by Gift Cards is a dead giveaway that it's not legitimate. I can't stress enough to NEVER let a 'cold caller' remote into your computer. NEVER! The tactics used are getting more and more complex and intricate in order to take your hard-earned money.
