Our weekly gardening club initiative at Lily B Clayton recently came to a close and we’re already missing it! We’ve been teaching our kids about gardening using our garden beds, worksheets, and the amazing help of the Nutrition club. Carrots, sweet potatoes, zucchini, lettuce, and more were carefully planted in the beds to grow over the summer, and we can’t wait to be back next semester. Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who came and helped out! πŸͺ΄πŸͺπŸ’š

Check out this awesome video of a One Shade Greener X Econautics events! This was filmed on a drone and edited by Reed Lyons, working with Crescendo Development. We had over 50 volunteers working for 3+ hours on ground 10 acres of property. Super exciting!!

Last month, One Shade Greener partnered with Econautics and Crescendo Development to support a powerful new vision in the Woodhaven neighborhood 🌱

Econautics has leased 10 acres of the former Woodhaven Country Club with plans to expand urban agriculture and youth education, helping connect families to nature while increasing food accessibility for Fort Worth youth.

With 50+ volunteers and 3+ hours of hands-on work, we cleared trash across the property, cleaned and restored areas around the lake, removed invasive trees and brush and cleaned out abandoned warehouses and sheds that will be used for future programming

This work supports a long-term vision to turn an underutilized space into a sustainable garden and outdoor classroom that invests in community health and education.

Grateful to everyone who showed up to serve, and excited to keep building alongside partners to serve our community πŸŒπŸ’š

Huge congratulations to our founder, Mark Sayegh, for being named TCU’s OUTSTANDING SENIOR at Homecoming! πŸΈπŸŽ‰

This award recognizes leaders who exemplify impact, integrity, and true service to the Horned Frog community, and we could not be more honored that our very own founder earned this incredible distinction.

Mark pours his heart into everything he does, and OneShadeGreener exists and thrives because of his vision and belief that students can spark real change! 🌎🌱

From building this organization from the ground up to inspiring the community to live sustainably, Mark continues to raise the bar for what student leadership looks like!

We are SO PROUD! Congratulations Mark. You make OSG and TCU brighter, greener, and better every day! πŸ’œ
