One thing I hear over and over is that dating is rough right now. So let me do some of the work! I'll get to know each applicant, ask the important questions, and pair people I genuinely think will vibe together.

🌈 The Q***r Joy Project continues. ✨🌟
You can experience the exhibit now at the Austin Area Arts 2nd Floor Gallery inside the Austin ArtWorks Center through August 21st, as we celebrate the stories, people, and community that make this project so meaningful.

Over the coming weeks, I'll be introducing the incredible humans who helped bring The Q***r Joy Project to life. Each portrait is more than a photograph it's a reflection of authenticity, resilience, joy, and the power of being seen exactly as you are.

All proceeds from this project benefit Austin MN Pride, helping support their mission to create safe, affirming, and joyful spaces for LGBTQIA+ people throughout our community.

Today, I'm honored to introduce the next person featured in The Q***r Joy Project, An🌈

An is our lead for Austin MN Pride and spends so much of his time pouring into other people. He does an incredible amount of work behind the scenes for our community, and honestly, I don't always know how he finds time to pour back into himself.

Then I got to know him better and realized that not only is he a beautiful human inside and out, but music and festivals are a huge part of his self-care. They're where he reconnects with himself, finds joy, and fills his own cup.

I wanted to include him in this series because of how impactful he is in our community and how much he has done for so many people. But I also wanted to showcase the different ways we all find q***r joy. For An, it's heading to festivals, getting lost in the music, dancing, connecting with others, and allowing himself to be fully present in moments of joy and freedom.

Q***r joy looks different for all of us, and this is what it looks like for him.

**Why did you say yes to this project?**
Because Morgan told me to.

Growing up, I never saw myself represented anywhere - from TV to movies. All I ever knew were the expectations set by my parents. As a first-generation kid, I grew up too fast. Music helped me along the way when I was considered too "mature" for some people and too "young" for others.

Music helped me connect with the lyrics, the stories, and the way melodies and harmonies are written. For this project, I chose rave and PLUR culture. There are a lot of misconceptions about rave culture. However, within the rave community, there is no judgment. You come as you are, and everyone is welcome.

The mutual understanding is PLUR: Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect.

That's one of the mindsets I bring to Austin MN Pride to make sure everyone knows they are welcome."
