Going live for an AMA about our app Language IRL, with other winners of the Meta Horizon Developers Hackathon. Show starts at noon CST. I'll be on at 1 CST.
Here’s our demo video for Language IRL. We won Meta's Best Implementation of Passthrough Camera Access with AI, which came with a $50,000 prize!
All the computer vision is done locally on the quest 3, with the voice recognition and translation done on the cloud. It’s really sweet to put these tools to work, and create something that really helps you learn.

We won the Meta Horizon Developer Competition! Out of over 2,900 participants we won Best Implementation of Passthrough Camera Access with AI for our application Language IRL.
In one month we built a language learning app that turns the world around you into your own private lesson. It features an augmented reality AI tutor that teaches you and then quizzes you in either Spanish, German, or French.
This was an awesome way to end the year. Looking forward to a powerful 2026!
