Eastside Cafe Austin

You may notice some construction around the former East Side Cafe building. We stand by the architecture and design decisions of the new owner, a local restauranteur. We sold the building to the team because they are committed to preserving the building's history and character. Unfortunately as is the case with many older buildings in East Austin, it required more foundation work than initially expected. To ensure structural integrity for years to come, the foundation, which was previously multiple slabs, will have to be completely rebuilt as one slab. While the front facade will need to be removed, it will be rebuilt in the style of the original house.
